Dear Church Family:
We are very excited about the construction progress. Repairs to the steeple continue, the painting of the sanctuary exterior is nearly finished and the main beam repairs are completed. The lighted crosses are being manufactured, and I am happy to announce that everything for the first phase has been done within budget and schedule.
As I mentioned previously, we have decided to completely replace the roof. The roof backing material is badly deteriorated requiring complete removal of the roof – just for repairs. So it makes sense to replace the roof with a new type of long-lasting alloy with integrated insulation. This will keep the auditorium much cooler and facilitate the future installation of air-conditioning. It will cost a little more than our repair estimate – but will provide years of trouble free maintenance too.
A friend of the Church family has agreed to a matching donation program for the roof material. The cost of actual alloy roofing material including the integrated insulation is $R 30,000 (Reais). Our friend will match every Real or Dollar donated in the month of May up to ½ of the $R 30,000. So for every 1 Real or 1 dollar you give……you are really funding two! This will allow us to complete the roof replacement on time, and fully paid for when finished.
